Komuro, known for bringing dance music to Japan in the 90’s became one of the countries most successful pop musicians selling more than 170 million records. Promising to sell investors ¬•500,000,000 of his catalogue, that he had already sold the instead took the money and used it to pay alimony. Pleading guilty in court, Komuro received a suspended three-year prison sentence with the owner of his recorded label triple what was owed. Komuro sentence has since been acquitted.
