Jail returns with a brand new series. Each year more than 14 million people are arrested in the USA, yet most of us have little idea what goes on behind the locked gates and cell doors. This series gains unprecedented access to life inside the walls of America’s jails, charting the trials and tribulations of the officers and the people they guard.

Shot on location in cities across the U.S.A, each episode captures the harsh and sometimes humorous reality of what happens to criminals once imprisoned. Following the documentary style epitomized by Cops, cameras are present to capture the action as the sheriffs greet the suspects. The real-life dialogue and unscripted drama provides viewers a unique peek at the experience of spending a busy night in jail.
