Airway Trolley
Contains equipment for routine intubation such as masks, oral & nasopharyngeal airways, 2 laryngoscope handles & 2 different size blades, a selection of endotracheal tubes, stylet & bougie plus a selection of naso/oro gastric tubes. Contents used to resuscitate patients, usually with an obstructed airway.

Cardiac Arrest Trolley
Contains a selection of airway adjuncts, drugs & defibrillator for use in a patient with cardiac arrest.

Cardiac Monitoring
Patient monitors can monitor cardiac rhythm, blood pressure, temperature and oxygen and carbon dioxide levels.

Central Unit
This is called a pendant. This has power, oxygen & nitrous oxide & air outlet, along with suction and scavenging units.

Defibrillator
Used for patients with cardiac rhythm abnormalities who are best treated with defibrillation or cardioversion. These can also provide cardiac pacemaking.

Difficult Airway Trolley
Use for a patient who is, or is predicted to be, difficult to intubate. It contains a selection of airway adjuncts such as laryngeal mask airway, different laryngoscope blades & surgical airway kits.

Eyes Ears
Wall mounted diagnostic set which includes an ophthalmoscope (used to see inside the fundus of the eye and other structures) and an otoscope (device used to look into the ears and nose).

Paediatric Trolley
Contains equipment for use in paediatric patients. Includes a selection of airway and vascular access equipment and drug & fluid administration charts.

Resuscitation Bay Bed
A light and robust bed that has the facility to be altered in tilt and height. It is radiolucent so x-rays can be performed through the bed. It has facility to mount monitoring equipment and intravenous fluids and medication pumps.

Ring Light
This is the operating theatre light used to assist medical personnel during a surgical procedure by illuminating a local area or cavity of a patient.

Suction & O2-Oxygen
A pendant for medical gases (oxygen, air & nitrous oxide) and suction.

Ultra Sound Machine
An ultrasound-based diagnostic imaging device used for visualizing subcutaneous body structures such as tendons, muscles, joints, vessels and interal organs. It is also used to assist invasive procedure, such as central line insertion.

Ventilator
A portable transport ventilator designed to mechanically move air and supplemental oxygen into the lungs to help a patient breathe.

W Pump
An intraveous fluid stand with an infusion pump. It is used to deliver fluids, medication or nutrients into a patient’s circulatory system intravenously through a catheter.

X Ray Lightbox
Used to view hardcopy x-rays that have been obtained outside the hospital. Infrequently used as SVH has a digital radiology system and images are viewed online.
